Miami-Dade police officer suspended after involving in child porn case
Miami, Florida – The Miami Dade police department announced on Thursday, that an officer has been suspended and is under criminal investigation.
On Thursday night, a man in handcuffs and his head covered was led into the jail.
The man who was booked into jail was the officer who had been suspended.
According to MDPD’s released statement on social media, the officer is being questioned, but not revealing much more about the investigation. The post did allude to children being involved.
Miami-Dade Police Director Jorge Perez released a statement that read: “Our children trust us to keep them safe and out of harm’s way. Not only as law enforcement, but as a father, a crime against a child is intolerable and will never be accepted. It sickens me to learn that one of our law enforcement officers is involved in betraying that trust. We will ensure transparency to our community and will provide an update as this investigation continues.”
According to neighbors, investigators were at the Southwest Miami-Dade home of an officer earlier on Thursday, but police won’t confirm the connection to the case.
They are working with the state attorney’s office as part of the investigation, police said.
