High-Speed Multi-City Chase Ends with Arrest of Man in Vehicle Stolen from Coral Springs
After eluding multiple police agencies in a high-speed chase, a Boynton Beach man was arrested after stealing a car and breaking into multiple others.
On February 18, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into a white Mercedez Benz’s theft in Coral Springs, and after a BOLO went out, deputies in East Broward Boulevard in Oakland Park spotted the vehicle in a parking lot.
According to the report, while deputies were attempting to immobilize the car so that it could not be driven away, a man, later identified as Bradley Rosenthal, 20, entered the vehicle and maneuvered the car so that it was unable to be locked in place. While fleeing in the vehicle he struck another car in the parking lot.
After his escape, deputies pursued Rosenthal, and as he entered Margate city limits, the Margate Police Department joined. According to their report, the officer saw Rosenthal traveling at high speed near West Atlantic Boulevard and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Once behind him, Rosenthal sped away, refusing multiple commands to stop.
Eventually, BSO and the CSPD located Rosenthal outside of the Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek using the vehicle’s OnStar GPS security system. The Margate officer who had attempted to pull over Rosenthal earlier arrived on the scene, positively identified Rosenthal as the stolen Mercedes driver.
CSPD later determined Rosenthal was responsible for breaking into multiple cars near the 8900 block of Ramblewood Drive in Coral Springs. The same area he had stolen the white Mercedez he was caught with. At least two vehicle owners in the vicinity reported their cars had been broken into, and items, such as cash, sunglasses, and ear pods, were missing.
Rosenthal was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail and was charged with 17 counts of grand theft and burglary, where he is being held without bond.
