Coral Springs Craft Guild scholarship applications will soon close
Coral Springs, Florida – In keeping with its long-standing history of assisting aspiring local artists, the Coral Springs Craft Guild is giving $1,750 in scholarships to seniors in high school.
The Craft Guild is going to give out three scholarships this year: two $500 memorial scholarships and a $750 main prize. The completed submissions and artwork must be received by Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
The Craft Guild, well-known for encouraging artistic ability, has given more than $65,000 in scholarships during the last 40 years. The scholarships for this year are available to seniors in high school who either live in Coral Springs or attend a high school in Coral Springs or Parkland.
To be eligible, students do not have to be enrolled in an art class. The Craft Guild emphasizes the value of uniqueness in the student work and welcomes contributions from a variety of artistic disciplines, including ornamental, graphic, and visual arts.
Madalen Erez got first place in 2023, followed by Michelle Pennetti Award winner Sarah Salazar in second place.
Interested students can apply by contacting Stephanie Kraft, the Guild’s Scholarship Chair, at stephanie.kraft@att.net, or through the BRACE advisor at their school.
The Craft Guild has arranged for the artwork to be picked up from the schools on this day and given back the next day. Students who are homeschooled can set up different places for their submissions to be picked up.
A 501(c)3 organization, the Coral Springs Craft Guild is made up of talented artisans and crafters from all around Florida. Since its founding 47 years ago, the Guild has actively participated in community service, organizing food drives, providing free crafts workshops to the local community, and helping homeless, pet, and Ronald McDonald House shelters.
Raffles held at meetings and the annual Craft Show, along with member donations, provide funding for the scholarships.
