Coral Springs, Florida – The community was welcomed by the Chabad Jewish Center to an unforgettable Passover Seder that included a sumptuous feast, enlightening discourse, and a blend of traditional traditions.
Services will start at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, and the Seder will start at 7:45 p.m. After the insightful and inspirational commentary on the Haggadah, the book that leads the Passover Seder, guests are invited to partake in a traditional four-course holiday supper.
The holiday of Passover honors the Hebrews’ release from Egyptian enslavement as well as the “passing over” of the powers of evil. Only unleavened bread, known as matzah, is permitted to be consumed during these seven (or eight) days. All leaven, whether in bread or another mixture, is forbidden. This matzah represents the Hebrews’ agony during their captivity as well as their hurried departure from Egypt during the Exodus.
Adult reservations cost $50, while children’s reservations cost $40. Reservations are essential. For $360, there are tickets available for Seder Sponsors, who would like to further contribute to the community’s celebration.
Following the custom that forbids Jews from owning any products made from leavened grains during Pesach, the Chabad Jewish Center is helping with the sale of chametz in addition to the Seder.
Rabbi Yankie Denburg will act on behalf of community members to sell their chametz to a non-Jew before Pesach begins and repurchase it after the holiday concludes because handling chametz includes several “legal” complexities.
By participating in this service, community members can observe Pesach in compliance with civil, rabbinic, and Torah requirements. Sales of chametz must end on Friday, April 4.
Coral Springs, Florida 33071’s Chabad Jewish Center can be found at 11325 W Atlantic Blvd. Please visit the Chabad Jewish Center’s website to learn more about the event and to make your reservation.
