Governing Board Chair of Imagine Broward receives charter educational award

Coral Springs, Florida – The Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools has awarded the 2024 Champion for Charter Schools Board Member Award to Brian Schlang, the Governing Board Chair of Imagine School at Broward.

This esteemed honor recognizes Schlang’s noteworthy accomplishments and unwavering commitment to the charter school community during the previous ten years.

Before moving to Parkland three years ago, Schlang spent eleven years living in Coral Springs. He expressed his gratitude for being awarded the 2024 Champion Charter School Governing Board Member Award.

“Although I received the award, it belongs to the entire board as well as the Imagine School at Broward staff and teachers,” he told Coral Springs Talk. “I would not have received this award without their hard work, support, and dedication.”

Schlang has been acknowledged by the faculty, staff, and students as having played a key role in leading a number of educational ideas and regulations that have helped charter schools around the state as well as Imagine School at Broward.

Schlang’s work has had a significant influence on Imagine Broward’s important infrastructure improvements, such as the construction of a new gymnasium and a 12-classroom extension for middle school students, thanks to his skill in financial management.

Apart from his position at Imagine Broward, Schlang holds the position of President at BAS CPA PLLC. He is a well-known member of numerous civic associations, such as the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance and the Leadership Broward Foundation.

His three children attend the school as well, strengthening his bond with it and increasing his desire to improve education for local kids.

“The best part of being a board member is the joy of giving back to the Broward community by having a positive impact on children’s education.”
