A student from Ramblewood Middle School wins first place in the history brochure competition
Coral Springs, Florida – Recently, Ramblewood Middle School won prizes and got an insight into the past by taking part in the Sergeant Moses Adams Memorial Middle School Brochure Contest.
358 trifold brochures describing important events and documents from the Revolutionary War era were submitted for this year’s brochure contest, which is held yearly by the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Students were especially encouraged to research important American history subjects like the First Continental Congress and the Boston Tea Party by participating in the contest.
Gianna Manns of Ramblewood Middle School took first place and received a $150 reward for her Bill of Rights brochure. Two other kids, Kailani Quintana and Alicia York, took first place in second and third place, respectively, and received awards of $50 and $100.
Quintana’s essay concentrated on the First Continental Congress, whereas York’s entry described the Boston Tea Party in depth.
Gianna Manns’s winning entry has not only secured her a seat in the forthcoming SAR state competition in May in Orlando but also a cash prize. She will represent Ramblewood Middle School and the Fort Lauderdale SAR Chapter with her bill of rights brochure.
