Police follow blood trail to capture robbery suspect concealed in bushes near home depot in Coral Springs
Coral Springs, Florida – Police arrested a man in Coral Springs after a blood trail at a Home Depot pointed to his involvement in the theft of tools from the store.
On November 21, store loss prevention personnel observed a man, later recognized as 49-year-old Cesar Hernandez, bleeding and leaving a trail as he moved through the aisles.
The path revealed multiple opened tool packages, featuring hammers and saw blades, before leaving the store.
A loss prevention employee stated that Hernandez made threats to shoot when approached and was observed holding his waistband, according to the report.
Officers responded promptly and traced the path to the bushes close to West Atlantic Boulevard, where they located Hernandez, and placed him under arrest.
Authorities retrieved a number of implements from the location, such as hammers and razor blades.
The report indicated that the total worth of the stolen goods amounted to $191.26.
A cut on Hernandez’s finger was the source of the bleeding.
According to the report, Hernandez faced charges of robbery and was transported to a hospital for treatment of a finger injury prior to being taken to Broward County Jail.
