Coral Springs Police reflect on passing of Sgt. Patrick “Pat” Madison

Coral Springs, Florida – On Saturday, members of the Coral Springs Police Department remembered the late Sgt. Patrick “Pat” Madison.

Dozens gathered outside the department’s headquarters to reflect on Madison’s life.

He died a year ago from complications related to Covid-19, leaving behind his son and a fiancé.

Police Chief Brad McKeone also reflected on the 43-year-old’s passing. Here’s what he posted on social media:

“Today marks one year since the tragic passing of Sgt. Pat Madison. Pat was a decorated 15-year member of the Coral Springs Police Department, who succumbed to complications of COVID-19. In the year that has passed since Pat’s death, not a day has gone by where we did not miss his sense of humor, leadership, and most importantly, his friendship.

“I am incredibly proud of the members of our organization and the Coral Springs Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 87 who continued to honor Pat throughout the year with a fundraiser to benefit his son, P.J., participation in a softball tournament for fallen heroes, and the creation of a PD dodgeball team in his honor.

“Today was no different, as the department gathered to honor him on the one-year anniversary of his passing. Pat was a servant leader whose unwavering support for the men and women he supervised speaks volumes about his character and his commitment to them. He was the kind of boss that everyone wanted to work for. While Pat is missed tremendously, we will never forget the impact he had on our organization, the community, and his fellow brothers and sisters in blue.”
