Coral Springs, Florida – At the Coral Springs Juneteenth Celebration, which includes comic Preacher Lawson and a lively pre-party on Wednesday, June 19, celebrate freedom with food, fun, and laughter.
The Coral Springs Center for the Arts will host a pre-party with food and entertainment starting at 6 p.m. Divine 9 will do a step routine, ADU Salon will present a fashion display, there will be arts and crafts, free small snacks from nearby black-owned eateries, and drinks are available for purchase.

The Coral Springs City Commission will extend a formal welcome to attendees of the celebration. Juneteenth was declared a city holiday by Commissioner Joshua Simmons, the first African American commissioner in the history of the city.
“Get ready, Coral Springs! We’re packing a lot of excitement, entertainment, and laughs into our Juneteenth Celebration this year,” Simmons said. “I look forward to seeing our community come together for our annual Juneteenth commemoration.”
With the code BESTDAYEVER, tickets for Coral Springs locals can be purchased for $25 and for non-residents for $35.
The celebration known as Juneteenth, or “Freedom Day,” honors the June 19, 1865, date of the emancipation of slaves from Galveston, Texas, which occurred more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
