Broward Health uses an electronic health record system to revolutionize care
Coral Springs, Florida – By switching from clipboards and paper trails to a state-of-the-art electronic health record system, Broward Health has just pushed the reset button in the healthcare industry.
Epic is a well-known electronic health record (EHR) system across the country. The initiative formally went online on November 2 after more than 11,000 team members underwent more than a year of training and technological advancements.
Many prominent healthcare institutions, such as the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Johns Hopkins Hospital, employ Epic Systems, a healthcare software business that was established in 1979.
Shane Strum, President & CEO of Broward Health, stated, “This major upgrade is not just about integrating new technology but also about redefining patient care and streamlining operations.” “By providing our community with the newest advancements in healthcare, we are dedicated to improving the overall healthcare experience.”
Healthcare practitioners in South Florida and throughout the world may communicate easily because to Epic’s connection. Both locals and tourists who depend on Broward Health for their medical requirements will gain from this.
According to Ray Berry, a member of the North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioner, “Broward Health has long been a pillar of healthcare in the area, serving a diverse population with a wide range of medical needs.” “Epic offers patient-friendly features like MyChart, which gives patients direct access to their health information, in addition to enabling real-time communication and collaboration among healthcare providers.”
MyChart, a safe online gateway that helps patients take charge of their health, was part of the launch. Using a web browser or mobile app, patients can use MyChart to view their medical records, make appointments, get prescription refills, and interact with their healthcare professionals directly.
With frequent upgrades and new features, Broward Health intends to keep improving Epic. Artificial intelligence elements aimed at further streamlining processes and enhancing patient outcomes are among the next improvements.
